First testament to the beginning hours of the last desperate action of Hitler's plan to take back the west. Here on the early morning of the 16th of December elements of Company "I" of the 110th Regiment, 28th Div were being squeezed into a corner and over run, forcing the men to retreat further back towards 3rd Battalion HQ.

This is very hard to see today in country as many buildings are being destroyed for the newer apartments and housing. A shame to see it go someday, the bullet impacts tell a story and capture a millisecond of history for generations to look on. Based on the angle of these markings, US soldiers must have been pinned down inside as German troops sniped from the church across the road.
