In The Footsteps of The 82 Airborne.

Every year Emile Lacroix and the living history Belgian clubs, organize and present a rucksack march in memory of the 82 AB Division. The march averages 20-22 KM up and down some of the most beautiful and toughest Ardennes North of Bastogne. This ground is the very location that the US forces battled the German war machine and finally pushed them back across the border, this of course coming with high prices paid. The event is loaded with groups dressed in period gear and uniform, paying homage to the units that fought there and hoofed it up and down those very large and steep hills while being shot and shelled at. All public is invited to attend and participate with a certificate of accomplishment in the end. In the past these certificates were signed by 2-3 veterans that were involved in the battles from this area, now it's not so certain that they return as they used to. More information can be found http://www.inthefootstepsofthe82ndairbornedivision.be/. A map, sign-up information, and more can be found on the website.
